Programming Committee Meeting

May 20, 2008

Present:  Luci Leonard, Nick Ring, Dan White, Deborah Alecson

Programs & Programmers:

      - Lucy still needs to get on bcra-programs list.

-  Luci brought up the need for training information to be in Spanish. We need to have all WBCR material bilingual.  Nick to speak to Phil Johnson, Orlando, Ruby and others regarding this.

Deborah reported that according to Larry, the alarm was not set when he entered the station Wednesday morning.  She will contact Todd and Graham.

Simons Rock Israel/Palestine Forum:

Deborah said that she and Larry are ready to air forum and would like to              

            do so in June.

News Director Update:

Nick and Ananda met with Dan Bellow.  Berkshire Taconic Foundation   accepts grant proposals.  To be discussed at board meeting.

Discussion about getting the word out regarding the Membership Committee Party to be held on May 28th.  Programmers will get 2 volunteer hours for attending.  Luci had sent an invitation to programmers.  Deborah will contact individual programmers who are in need of additional volunteer hours.

Summer Schedule:

        Nick and Deborah reviewed possible time slots in June for the SimonҒs Rock Israel/Palestine Forum.  The possible slots were:  Sunday, 12-2; Wednesday, 3-5; and Saturday, 9-11.  Deborah needed to check Larrys schedule and that of their invited guest who will be providing additional commentary. 

        It was decided that the final summer schedule could not be completed until after the Membership Committee party, giving programmers the opportunity to increase their volunteer hours. 

Next meeting:  May 25, 2008 to work on the schedule.  Next PC Meeting:  June 3, 2008.
