June 3, 2008

Minutes of 5/20/08

Motion to approve.  Unanimous

Review of tasks

- Revise Guest On Air Orientation Sheet.  Phil Johnson will take this up and it will be brought to a future PC meeting.

- Spanish translation of training materials. sent to membership committee with a request from the PC to provide bilingual station material to members and programmers.

- Luci added to PC email list. yes.

- Contact individual programmers who are in need of hours. done.

Programs/Programmers

- Questions regarding studio alarm not being set and related issues regarding the mornings of 5/14 and 5/28. 

- Israel/Palestine forum:  scheduled for Sunday, June 8th at 12-2pm, subject to schedule finalization late this meeting.

Programmers without recorded volunteer hours

- David Gavin.  sent email to Ananda that he has attempted to meet w/ Ben several times at the new space for work, but no one was there.  Wishes to continue his program and commits to meeting his requirements.  Motion:  to recognize the removal of his program for one term.  approved: 5 yes, 1 abstention.

- Giz Doyle.  states that she was informed that due to her disabilities that her requirements would be waived.  Motion: she remains on the schedule based on the understanding that she did do an hour of previously unrecognized volunteer work and the extenuating circumstances of confusion over requirements and that for the next term the volunteer requirement will be expected of her.  approved: 5 yes, 1 abstention.

- Wyatt Ronan.  expressed confusion that he thought this was a suggestion more than a requirement.  requested a waiver with commitment to do double hours next term.  Motion:  to recognize the removal of his program for one term.  approved: 5 yes, 1 abstention.

- Mary Ellen.  Has committed to working with Treasurer, but has not done so prior to June 1.  Motion: to recognize the removal of her program for one term.  approved: 5 yes, 1 abstention.

- Eliza Crescentini.  Motion: to remove Elizas cleared programmer status.  The program will continue with a new host/responsible party.  approved:  4 approved, 2 abstentions.

- Luke Marciano.  Luke reported one hour of volunteer time that was not previously recognized.  He will remain a cleared programmer subject to the requirements put forth on missing programs and required volunteer hours. 

Programmers with 2-4 recorded volunteer hours

Based on the results of tallies after the 5/28 membership meeting,  the list of programmers with 2, 4, and 6 (or more) volunteers hours has been revised and Ananda will send out an email to the programmers who are not in good standing what that means.

Music Director Update

Dan has sent an email to all record labels that programmers have suggested. 

New Programmer Training & Applicants Update

- 2 new applications have arrived. They are passed to New Programmer Liaison (Judy) for the next term.

- Jason Brown.  Needs final clearing.

- Nancy Marcus.  Bob OҒHaver is overseeing her training.  She still needs a policy training.  Will probably start late in the term.

- Andrew Belcher. up and running.

- Thad Kubis.  current status unknown.

- Pat Keilly.  current status unknown.

- Jonathan Bee.  ?

- Laura Chekow.  well on the way.  need a policy training.

- Rishi Connelly.  currently training.

- Ruralliance.  rather close to completion.

- JoJo Silverman. being trained.  no immediate program.

Program Director Update

- contacted _____ letting them know that they had not completed volunteer hours and will be losing their programs for one term.

- sent an email to all programmers who are in good standing that they are indeed in good standing.

Move: On Air Schedule

The Facilities Committee cannot specify a specific date for the transition.

Summer Schedule

- Israel/Palestine set for 1-time airing on June 8, 12-2pm. confirmed.

- Motion: accept the summer schedule as developed. approved unanimous. 

- Judy and Ananda are contacting new programmers to confirm training status.

- Ananda will update Day Captains on new schedule/programmers

- Day Captains need to contact new programmers/current programmers who will be on their day.  They will be CCed on any emails relating to programmers on their day, including notification of loss of on-air acces.

- Discussion regarding programmers who have been removed.  proposal of understanding: if programmers have completed a minimum of six hours for the next term, while they may not gain their show back, they would become eligible for fill-ins (after completing the minimum volunteer hours).  Referred to Membership Committee for their thoughts on the matter.  to be addressed at next PC meeting.

- New term tech issues.  changes in automation and audio hijack must be made for every programming change in the new schedule. 

Tasks:

- draft PSA Person Job Description to Programming Committee email list (NR)

- Deborah will check programmer logs to identify the last programmers signed in on 513 and 5/28

- Ananda to send email to programmers who have completed less than 6 volunteer hours on the consequences of not meeting the requirements.

- Dan will remind programmers that station music may not leave the station premises. 

- Dan to put Luke Marciano on the on air listserv.

- Ananda to contact Day Captains with schedule changes/new programmer information

- Judy and Ananda will update
