January 21, 2010

Present:  Ananda, Nick, Andy, Harold, Dan
Guests:  Ruby Maldanaldo, Bernadino Aguilar

Programmers/Programming Issues:

Begin with La Voz appeal of reapplication denial.  Programmers present issues related to their appeal.  Communication can be difficult.  Programmers suggest that the program’s value to the Hispanic community outweighs the lack of volunteer hours.  This is a reason not an excuse.  English as a second language classes take some more time.  Programmers say that they have volunteered to cover shows, but that others covered the show after they had already offered.

Programmers have done 4 hours during the period as a group.

Nick notes that we should clarify fill-in policy to avoid confusion.

Committee votes to grant the waiver with the understanding that the programmers and the Committee will work to ensure that the volunteer hour requirement is satisfied in the coming term.  3 yes votes, 0 no votes.
