Several listeners commented on a program airing November 11. Committee listened to extensive clips of the program and found repeated violations of FCC and station policy. Motion: recognizing the compound results of actions in a single show and organizational oversight, Andrew is awarded 2 points each for violations of profanity, prices, calls to action, and promotion. Preemption Request
Christopher Sblendorio has given up his regularly scheduled time (Sun., 5-7) on Dec. 7 for a benefit concert aired live. He will be using Jeanne’s time slot on the following monday.
Off Air Times
We have experienced down times when automation was running. Problem was unauthorized DRMed files that had been put into the system, forcing the system to stop and ask for permission. Those files have been cleared out. On November 17, around 7:30am the station went off the air, requiring an STL reset.
Training/New Applicants
December 1 is the deadline for new applications. We have 4-6 applications currently. There are still current new programmers who have not been cleared. Larry and Deborah will work with Peter Levine to process current new programmers, including 5 people who need a trainer and 6 people we need training updates on.
Phone
Concerns regarding technical quality of programming with live callers. Request expressed to Tech Committee to access technical qualities of telephone interface. Request to tech committee for return of telephone flash ringers.
Democracy Now!/FSRN
Due to irregularities in release times of Free Speech Radio News which result in repeated passed programs, we are switching the times of FSRN and Democracy Now! DN! will now air 5-6pm; FSRN will air 6-6:30, but not until a dependable delivery system is ensured. The switch will go into effect Nov. 26. Nick will produce a promo that will be put in random automation and a statement to be played in place of FSRN. Ben will adjust automation accordingly. Ananda will take of the news blog, PSA blog, and email to programmers.
Fund Drive Statement
PC requests that future fund drives not occur too soon after the start of a new programming term. Dan drafting a request to be approved at next PC meeting, then sent to the Fundraising Committee and the Board.
