Programmer and Programming
AM Show: Meeting held. suggestions for short segments (news, etc.) including “Wake Up Call News” (7-8min), “Workers Independent News” (3min), and “Radical Days in History” (2-3min) interspersed with music. possibly national news on the hour, local news on the half hour—may total 20-30 minutes for 2 hour program. Different approaches to scheduling programmer coverage. Harold Schrager has volunteered to be program coordinator/director. Request to Tech Committee for feedback on best way to air these outside-produced segments (prerecorded, automation script, etc.). Report of progress will be sent to the PC.
Andrew Sagarin: AS has missed two shows awaiting policy training with Ben.
Station ID concern: Listener expressed concern over station ID that contained references to MILFs. Motion: The ID will be pulled from automation and trimmed if possible for return to air. approved unanimously.
Funky Cheeseshack Girls: Concern raised by the FCG, via a note, of an unusual male caller during their program. Incident report will be filled out and given to the Board with the note and follow-up contact made with the FCG.
Christian Science Radio Sentinel: Request that a separate individual than that on the program application share the required volunteer hours. Under current rules PC didn’t feel that required volunteer hours could be shared, but that the committee will consider alternative approaches for syndicated programs.
Handbook
Nearly done, save for typos and a few modifications. Draft version will be used for policy training on December 5.
New Applications
Thirteen new applications, several of which are current programmers not requiring further training.
Request to Fundraising Committee
PC requests of the Fundraising Committee that fund drives not be scheduled in first two weeks of new term. Dan will draft and send to Serene.
Ticket Giveaway
Motion: Approve a ticket giveaway for Klezmatics tickets on Common Sense Songs, provided the ticket giveaway policies are followed. approved unanimously.
