1) Glenn Brook?s Grievance Against the Programming Committtee

On 4/30/07 the programming committee received a copy of a grievance filed against it by Glenn Brooks. It was filed with the grievance committeee in connection with the programming committees non-renewal of Glenn?s application for continued on-air access. The committee had decided it would review the grievance and file a written response with the grievance committee.

The committee chose to address what it saw as the individual points in Glenns Grievance. It seemed based on five points which the committee will addressed individually.

1) The process by which Vibrant Living?s application was not renewed lacked sufficient communication.  Glenn feels a programmer should know whenever their show is being discussed by the committee.

2) The process lacked written communication.

3) The process lacked transparency

4) The decision of the committee to not renew Vibrant Livings application was not communicated in a timely fashion.

5) That committee member Todd Lewis, acting on the committee?s behalf, behaved in a threatening manner when communicating with Glenn & Donna Brooks during their show on spring fund drive day; 3/5/07.

The committee reached an agreement on the rough draft of the response. It will be drafted by Todd Lewis and posted on the programming committees discussion list for suggestions/editing by other members.  The finished document will be made part of the programming committee?s record.

2) New Programmers

It was decided that Ann Condon will handle the bulk of the policy training of new programmers. Nick Ring will provide assistance, if needed, as the new programming term approaches.

Todd Lewis reported that training of new programmers continues to go smoothly.  One programmer, Wyatt Ronan, has completed two trainings and has been signed off on by Todd Lewis. He will be ready to go on the air when his first show airs on 6/5/07.  Two programmers have completed 2 trainings and need to be reviewed by their day captains. With the exception of one or two of the new programmers most have some experience with audio/technical equipment and or a natural proficiency with the equipment and have been learning quickly.

Dan White was not present to report on new programmer folders but Ann Condon said that she believed the task had been completed.

The topic of day captains signing off on new programmers was revisited as one of the day captains, Ananda Timpane, has very little on-air experience herself.  She expressed her desire to participate in the signing off process and asked that another captain could be present to supervise her. This was agreed upon by the committee.

3) Revisit Schedule in Light of a Programmer Resignation

Kristopher Kennedy, who hosts Mountain Lion Reggae which airs every other Tuesday from 9-11pm, resigned citing time constraints.  The committee discussed several options. Knowing Will McDougal, host of Culture Shift on Tuesdays at 11, preferred an earlier time it was decided that Todd Lewis would contact Will regarding the open slot. (Will McDougal decided to take Kris Kennedys slot)

It was also discussed that Ariana Gwiazdzinski will be moving and her slot would become available.  The syndicated show Net Waves would move into that slot.
