Board of Directors Meeting—June 23, 2010 at WBCR studio

Meeting convened at 6:04 pm

In attendance:  N. Ring, P. Rapp, F. Tolopko, P. Levine
Absent: J. Eddy, D. Barrett, Y. Skiba
Guests: A. Timpane (via phone),  B. Shalles

Agenda adopted unanimously
Previous minutes (5/26/2010) accepted unanimously with minor corrections.
Public comments: None
Treasurer’s Report   (via email)
        $14,230 bank balance
        $938 Berkshare balance
Treasurer’s report accepted unanimously.
       
Committee reports
Facilities: (B. Shalles) Ramp work to continue as it does meet code requirements. The architect for our remodeled studio has offered to pay for bringing ramps into compliance. B. Shalles will seek competitive bids for rap and handrail work.
Membership: No report.
Programming: (A. Timpane, via phone):  Not all programmers have been cleared for the current schedule. Training will be completed shortly. The PC is discussing on-air price guidelines. P. Rapp that the PC forward to programmers the suggestion for talking up the A. Goodman event.
Tech: N. Ring: Recent signal and studio A problems due to power main supply interruptions. Rebooting of affected equipment rectified the outages. Problems with data migration to new computer are being handled by N. Ring. CD player #1 has been repaired and returned. #2 is being prepared for shipment to repair facility. Programming committee requested help with automating (scripts) program downloading.
Fund Raising: P. Rapp: Update on the Amy Goodman event: motel space, food donations, book sales, posters and reception event. Potential next event may be an “Oktoberfest” which might piggyback with the fund drive the 2nd week in October. A. Potter is doing some preliminary planning.
Finance: No report. 
Grievance: No report.
Public Relations: No report.

Tasks update and other agenda items

F. Tolopko to pursue the migration of the fund raising database to a new platform.
P. Levine to obtain additional information on full power tower requirements.

Motion to adjourn was unanimously accepted at 7:16 pm.
