Minutes from Membership Meeting 11/1/07

Membership meeting held at the Berkshire South Community Center.  Meeting started at 7:35, moderated by Don McGrory.

Report by Laura Chekow on the just completed fund drive: final total $25000. Reported plans to place a thank you ad in the Shoppers Guide to all those who donated food, services, and challenge grants.

Nick Ring and Asa Harecastle gave an informative report on the history and ongoing efforts to make the Riseup email list more user friendly and a tool for positive communication concerning WBCR policies.
Changes may include: a membership requiremet to post, a moderator, and removal from the list for repeated violations of civility or personal attacks.
There was about 45 minutes of discussion in which everyone present participated.

A question about the minutes from the July2007 Board meeting concerning the existing flooring in the Grannery building. After consulting with experts in the environmental field, the Board voted to leave the floor covering in place.

A question was also asked concerning minutes from tha Annual Meeting.  Due to our own oversight no minutes were taken. As most committee chairs   have several other pressing responsibilities within the organization, summaries of Committee Reports given by the committee chairs at the meeting will be posted on the websight when time allows.

Todd Lewis gave a brief report concerning volunteer initatives among programmers, noting those who have stepped up to help train new programmers.

The next Membership meeting agenda will be: commercialism and self promotion on air by programmer, and more information on volunteerism.
