Current Board Situation
Each board member was given time to contribute
thoughts & opinions regarding current board dis-functions, from which a single list of issues was generated.

The List (no order)
-Poorly Run Meetings / Uncomfortable Meetings / Fear of Speaking Up
-Attention shift from radio station / Desire for more focus on ғrunning a radio station
-Rotating Meeting Facilitator (Good/Bad)
-Trust / Benefit of the Doubt
-Focus Less on Differences
-Concern for loss of the Bigger Picture Perspective
-If we are committed to the mission?
-Lack of productivity due to being politically correct
-The Board should have input from the membership, but should not go to the membership to solve the Boards problems
-Should we be vulnerable to the larger township (be all inclusive) OR should we focus on ԓrunning a radio station
-Dismissive-ness is lonely
-Need for Positive Eagerness
-In-Appropriate Emails
-Voting (as opposed to consensus)
-Do we have a shared Vision?
-What do we want to accomplish
-Current Dis-Functions of the Board go further back than just one year
-Breakdown in Trust-Respect-Focus
-Desire for the Board to work together
-Concern for loss of discourse (in general)
-Decorum Issue
-How to behave / How to communicate (Good/Bad)
-Systemic Issues: Gender/Exclusion
-Important to understand how the organization is run
-What are the tasks and who performs them
-Poor presentation of ideas leading to confusion
-Absence of Leadership
-Experiments in Process
-Different Interpretations of the Mission Ԗ Mission Statement is troublesome (no clarity)

Asa distributed a letter and packet submitted by John Breasted.  The letter was read aloud by Asa.
Jerry Fromm & Margaret Parish contributed thoughts on observations they made during the meeting.
Suggesting that the board not rush this conversation about what the mission statement means to each of us.

Motion: Special meeting of the board of directors Tuesday May 23rd, 2006 for remaining agenda items. Approved.
