A Public Service from Berkshire Community Radio

Berkshire Community Radio is pleased to offer the Berkshire community an outlet to announce events, causes and all sorts of interesting things.  It’s our Public Service Announcement Blog.  Anyone can post a message from our homepage at http://www.berkshireradio.org.  The link is on the left-hand sidebar.  Write the post as you would like it to be read aloud over the radio.  As a non-commercial station we can’t announce prices, so please leave them out of the post.  It is really as simple as that.

A second advantage to the blog is that your message will be available at Berkshireradio.org for viewing online.

Want to be on the radio?

The next deadline to apply to produce/host a new show on WBCR-lp is December 1st.  Orientation and training are scheduled during December and January.  New program producers will go live February 1st with the start of the Winter/Spring program schedule.  Anyone can do it! Apply here.

WILCO TICKET GIVEAWAY THIS FRIDAY TO WBCR LISTENERS!

WBCR-LP and Wilco Ticket Giveaway and Raffle

Hey there WBCR-LP listeners.  We’ve got exciting news for any of you out there who like free concerts. 
WBCR-LP, Higher Ground Productions and Wilco are proud to announce the “In Support of Community Radio Grand Slam Ticket Give Away and Raffle”.

Wilco is presently on tour in our area.  They’ll be in nearby Wappinger Falls, NY, just south of Poughkeepsie, on July 18.

And WBCR-lp has tickets - for you!!

Friday, July 17 we’ll be giving away a pair of tickets to the Wappinger Falls show AND a pre-show BBQ.  But it’s a contest folks and here’s how you win:

We’ll be announcing 3 Wilco and WBCR trivia facts.  Listen in and learn them.  Because at 7PM on Friday, July 17, during Galen Wade’s Scratchy Record Show, the 5th caller who knows the three trivia facts will win the tickets.So LISTEN IN TO WIN free Wilco concert tickets.

And that’s not all!!  Wilco has also donated a complete set of their CD catalog, a Wilco DVD, as well as, a Wilco tote bag.  On July 31st we’ll raffle this great merchandise off and some lucky winner will take it all home.  Raffle tickets will be on sale soon so stay tuned for more information.

Now you know.  So this Friday, July 17th, just after 7PM be the 5th person to phone Galen Wade during the Scratchy Record show to win free tickets to see Wilco and attend a pre-show BBQ in Wappinger Falls, NY just south of Poughkeepsie, on July 18.
